Brave: Queen Elinor and King Fergus, Merida’s parents.

This is another addition to my fan art collection. I took hours in perfecting the details on the costumes, especially King Fergus’. In the painting, Merida was there too, but I failed to create the effect of Merida’s bouncy hair which signify her freedom. Quite an important feature!

Did You Know?

Disney took two long years just to perfect the texture and movement of Merida’s hair in the flick. That’s a lot of time and hard-work well invested.

Will-o’-wisp-Make A Wish!!

Greetings, my fellow beings! And here’s to wonderful year ahead, 2017!

I’ve already expressed how Merida has always been a role model for me (in my previous post). This is a new addition to my fan art for Brave. It is also accompanied with a quote from the movie, Brave that has a simple yet beautiful meaning.

The illuminating blue creature in Merida’s hand is known as a will-o’-wisp, a trail of which leads Merida to her fate. With the beginning of another year, I wish everyone can find his/her trail of will-o’-wisps and can materialize his/her wishes into reality.

Merida’s character from Brave teaches us how to courageously face difficult phases of life.

Personally, I feel that no matter what your age is, you must watch the Disney flick, ‘BRAVE‘. It is not a usual Disney film depicting a damsel-in-distress and the Prince Charming rushing to the rescue the innocent chick. It is the story of a young girl, Merida who takes a definite stand to voice her opinions, while learning the importance of family in one’s life. She turns out to be a proud individual….”with the reigns of her destiny in her own hands!”

I created this a while ago. It depicts the relationship Merida had with her mother, who had turned into a bear, following a magical mis-spell.
